This wine was created in 1928 by el “marchese” Niccolo Antinori, who created the IGT. Produced with a selection of the best grapes from the Villa Antinori estate, the design of the label has remained almost unchanged since its origins, with slight modifications in 1990 and 2001. Intense ruby red in colour, it has aromas of wild berries reminiscent of blueberries and blackberries, with hints of vanilla from vinification in oak barrels. On the palate, it is well constituted with soft tannins and a long finish that leaves hints of berries on the palate. This is clearly a good wine to accompany tasty meats such as lamb, game, red meat, grilled meats, pasta in general, Mediterranean, Asian and Latin American cuisine, and cheeses such as Brie and Parmesan.
