Both producer and merchant, Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné was founded in 1834 by Antoine Jaboulet. The estate then passed into the hands of his sons Paul and Henry, before being passed on from generation to generation. In January 2006, the Frey family, Champagne winemakers and owners of Château La Lagune in Bordeaux, took over Paul Jaboulet Aîné. Paul Jaboulet Ainé, one of the most famous representatives of Rhône Valley wines, is located on the most beautiful plots of these appellations.
Overlooking the River on the hills of the Hermitage, the Chapel is the jewel of the estate. The 1961 vintage has become the most expensive wine in the world!
