The estate’s flagship cuvée, Bocca di Lupo, is a masterful interpretation of the Aglianico grape variety, often nicknamed the “Nebbiolo of the South.” Sourced from the high-altitude vineyards around Castel del Monte, this wine is vinified with the rigor and patience of great aging reds. The nose is deep and complex: black cherry, leather, sweet spices, incense, and warm stone. On the palate, it is structured, with a noble tannic structure and a freshness that gives it remarkable aging potential. A great southern wine, noble and distinguished, to be decanted for a long time or left in the cellar for a few years.
Created by the Antinori family in the early 2000s, the Tormaresca estate embodies the desire to explore and develop the immense potential of southern Italy. Located in the Puglia region, between the hills of Castel del Monte to the north and the warmer lands of Salento to the south, the estate is divided into two distinct areas: Bocca di Lupo, in the limestone soils of Minervino Murge, and Masseria Maìme, in Salento, not far from the Adriatic Sea.
Tormaresca has established itself as a key player in this region, still little explored by major wineries, thanks to careful viticulture, often certified organic, and precise work in the cellar. The estate combines native grape varieties – Primitivo, Negroamaro, Aglianico – with international varieties such as Chardonnay and Cabernet, in wines with a strong personality, authentic, but always elegant.
