An iconic cuvée from Santa Cristina, Le Maestrelle is an original and seductive blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, and a touch of Syrah, elegantly combining Tuscan tradition with international inspiration.
The nose is intense and charming, blending notes of black cherry, violet, sweet pepper, and a discreet hint of vanilla due to partial barrel aging. On the palate, the wine is supple and round, with beautifully ripe fruit, delicate tannins, and a freshness that balances the overall effect. The finish is harmonious, fruity, and slightly spicy.
Available now, it’s the perfect accompaniment to everyday dishes: tomato pasta, grilled meats, fine charcuterie, or artisanal pizza.
Located in Cortona, in southeastern Tuscany, the Santa Cristina estate was founded in 2006, but its history goes back much further, as the Santa Cristina cuvée has existed in the Antinori universe since 1946. Created to express the accessible, modern, and sincere side of Italian wine, the Santa Cristina estate embodies a philosophy based on authenticity, conviviality, and constant evolution.
With vineyards located between Tuscany and Umbria, the estate benefits from diverse terroirs, including clay-limestone hills, a temperate Mediterranean climate, and moderate altitudes. Santa Cristina combines traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary approach to winemaking, emphasizing fruit purity, drinkability, and understated elegance.
The estate’s wines are intended to be accessible, but never ordinary: they are daily companions, reliable, generous, and deeply rooted in their terroir.
