Presentation
Les Arums de Lagrange 2023 is the second white wine from the prestigious Château Lagrange, located in the Bordeaux appellation. This vintage is distinguished by its blend of 73% Sauvignon Blanc, 12% Sauvignon Gris, and 15% Sémillon. The grapes come from vines grown on clay-limestone soils, benefiting from optimal exposure for perfect ripening. After careful vinification, the wine is aged for 7 months in barrels, 40% of which are new, to refine its structure and aromatic complexity.
Tasting
The Les Arums de Lagrange 2023 is a brilliant pale yellow in color. The nose is expressive, revealing aromas of fresh fruit such as lemon, grapefruit, white peach, and pear, accompanied by floral notes of verbena and lightly toasted touches. On the palate, the wine is lively and fresh, with well-integrated acidity supporting a slightly oily texture. Flavors of exotic fruits and citrus blend harmoniously with mineral nuances, offering a long and elegant finish.
Château Lagrange, classified as a 3rd Growth Classified in the Saint-Julien appellation, is an iconic wine estate on the Left Bank of Bordeaux. It covers over 150 hectares, 118 of which are planted with vines. The vineyard is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (67%), supplemented by Merlot (28%) and Petit Verdot (5%) for the production of red wines.
The estate also produces a dry white wine from a 7.5-hectare vineyard. This blend is composed of 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Sauvignon Gris, and 20% Sémillon. This white wine stands out for its freshness, minerality, and fruity aromas, offering a wonderful alternative for lovers of Bordeaux whites.
Under the direction of the Suntory family, owners of the château, and with the collaboration of oenologist Éric Boissenot, Château Lagrange combines tradition and innovation to produce high-quality wines. The estate’s red wines are renowned for their structure, balance, and aging potential.
Château Lagrange is recognized as one of the great names in the Saint-Julien appellation, offering wines that reflect the excellence of the Bordeaux terroir.
