Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge is a Pinot Noir wine, typical of the Burgundy region. Unlike whites, this wine has spicier and fruitier aromas, with notes of cherry, raspberry, and sometimes hints of undergrowth or licorice. On the palate, it is lighter than other red appellations of the Côte de Nuits, but it has a beautiful tannic structure, with silky tannins and a fruity finish. It is excellent drunk young, but can also improve with a few years in the cellar. This wine pairs well with grilled red meats, poultry, or fine charcuterie.
This historic estate offers a selection of the best climates, most of which are located in the communes of Chassagne-Montrachet, Volnay, and Pommard. The winemaking methods are carefully carried out and are very traditional: hand-harvested, and aged in oak barrels for 12 months for the white wines and 14 to 18 months for the reds.
