Stéphane Puyol produces a Saint-Émilion at its finest. This wine is made from a subtle blend dominated by Merlot (80%) and aged for 12 months in oak barrels. On the nose, Barberousse reveals generous aromas of ripe red fruits—black cherry, blackberry—enhanced by a hint of vanilla and subtle oak, often toasted depending on the aging process. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with pronounced yet silky tannins and a harmonious texture, with a beautiful fruit intensity and impressive length. Typical of Saint-Émilion, this wine combines the richness of Merlot with the freshness and finesse provided by the secondary grape varieties and oak, offering good aging potential while still being very enjoyable young.

Located on hillsides with well-drained clay-gravel soils, the estate practices sustainable viticulture to bring out the best of the Libourne terroir.
The estate produces 80% Merlot, with the remainder split between Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
