Ranked among the most prestigious Grands Crus of the Côte de Nuits, Clos Saint-Denis is located in the heart of Morey-Saint-Denis, on a terroir renowned for its balance between power and finesse. Joseph Drouhin’s Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru elegantly embodies this duality: on the nose, it offers a complex palette of ripe red fruits, violet, white pepper, and noble undergrowth. The palate is silky and deep, marked by very fine tannins and a subtle freshness that gracefully extends the finish. The delicately integrated oak barrel aging supports the complexity without ever overpowering the pure character of the Pinot Noir. A great wine for laying down, it pairs brilliantly with refined dishes such as roast veal fillet, hare à la royale, or truffled Brie.
Since 1880, Maison Joseph Drouhin has embodied the history of a family passionate about the great wines of Burgundy. Today, the estate spans 100 hectares in the region’s most prestigious “climats.” From its inception, the House has distinguished itself through its commitment to quality, respect for the terroir, and the diversity of Burgundy’s appellations.
Joseph Drouhin quickly succeeded in combining the roles of wine merchant, producer, and, above all, owner. Generations have succeeded one another, strengthening the House’s reputation through the acquisition of iconic plots in Chablis, the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune, and beyond.
Each generation has been guided by rigorous ethics and a constant quest for excellence. The Drouhin style, instantly recognizable, is distinguished by its finesse, elegance, and purity.
Organic and biodynamic viticulture has naturally emerged as a natural choice to preserve the authentic expression of the terroirs. Today, Maison Joseph Drouhin still embodies the balance between family tradition and respectful innovation. A name synonymous with refinement, harmony, and a passion for Burgundy.
