The Demoiselle de Sociando-Mallet 2020 is the second wine of the prestigious Sociando-Mallet estate, offering an accessible, fruity, and elegant Haut-Médoc that remains true to the estate’s style. Its deep ruby-red color with violet reflections immediately catches the eye, revealing a wine that is both enticing and fresh.
On the nose, it is expressive and refined, with notes of red and black fruits – raspberry, cherry, and blackcurrant – complemented by subtle floral hints and a delicate touch of oak from partial aging in carefully selected barrels.
On the palate, the Demoiselle 2020 impresses with its smoothness and balance. The tannins are fine and well-integrated, supported by harmonious freshness that structures the tasting. Flavors of ripe fruit blend with gentle spicy and lightly oaky notes, delivering a clean, persistent, and pleasant finish, suitable for immediate enjoyment or short-term aging.
Food pairings: this second wine is ideal with white meats, roasted poultry, grilled dishes, lightly sauced meals, or soft cheeses.
The Demoiselle de Sociando-Mallet 2020 perfectly reflects the estate’s approach: a refined, accessible, and fruity wine, allowing one to discover the style and craftsmanship of Sociando-Mallet while remaining affordable. It is suitable for immediate drinking as well as for accompanying a refined meal, offering a typical Haut-Médoc experience at a more accessible price than the grand cru.
Located in the Haut-Médoc, northwest of Saint-Julien, the Sociando-Mallet estate is an iconic Bordeaux vineyard, renowned for producing powerful, elegant, and balanced wines. Founded in the 19th century, it is today managed with passion and precision to preserve the terroir’s typicity and ensure the quality of its wines.
The estate covers approximately 90 hectares of vineyards, mainly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with some parcels of Petit Verdot. The gravelly, well-drained soils, typical of the Haut-Médoc, allow for excellent grape concentration and optimal ripeness.
Sociando-Mallet combines tradition and modernity: hand-harvested grapes, rigorous selection, and precise vinification. The wines are aged in carefully selected oak barrels, providing aromatic complexity and elegance while respecting the natural expression of the terroir.
The estate is also known for its second wine, Demoiselle de Sociando-Mallet, which offers an accessible way to discover the estate’s style: refined, fruity, and approachable wines, while maintaining the classic character and aging potential of the great Haut-Médoc wines.
