The Demoiselle de Sociando-Mallet 2021 is the second wine of the renowned Sociando-Mallet estate, offering an accessible, fruity, and elegant Haut-Médoc that stays true to the style of the estate. Its deep ruby-red color with subtle violet reflections immediately catches the eye, revealing a fresh and enticing wine.
On the nose, it is expressive and refined, with notes of red and black fruits such as raspberry, cherry, and blackcurrant, complemented by floral hints and a delicate touch of oak from partial barrel aging in carefully selected casks.
On the palate, it impresses with its smoothness and balance. The tannins are fine and well-integrated, supported by harmonious freshness. Flavors of ripe fruit are complemented by subtle spicy notes, delivering a clean, persistent, and pleasant finish that invites immediate enjoyment or short-term aging.
Food pairings: ideal with white meats, roasted poultry, grilled dishes, lightly sauced meals, or soft cheeses.
This wine perfectly reflects the approach of the Sociando-Mallet estate: an elegant and approachable second wine that allows you to discover the style and craftsmanship of the property while remaining affordable. It is suitable for immediate drinking as well as for accompanying a refined meal.
Located in the Haut-Médoc, northwest of Saint-Julien, the Sociando-Mallet estate is an iconic Bordeaux vineyard, renowned for producing powerful, elegant, and balanced wines. Founded in the 19th century, it is today managed with passion and precision to respect the typicity of the terroir and the quality of its wines.
The estate covers approximately 90 hectares of vineyards, mainly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with some plots of Petit Verdot. The gravelly, well-drained soils, characteristic of the Haut-Médoc, allow for excellent grape concentration and optimal ripeness.
Sociando-Mallet combines tradition and modernity: hand-harvested grapes, meticulous sorting, and precise vinification. The wines undergo aging in carefully selected oak barrels, providing aromatic complexity and elegance while preserving the natural expression of the terroir.
The estate is also known for its second wine, Demoiselle de Sociando-Mallet, which offers an accessible way to discover the estate’s style: refined, fruity, and approachable wines, while maintaining the classic character and aging potential of the great Haut-Médoc wines.
