The Apollon “Le Divin” 2020 presents a deep purple color.
On the nose, generous aromas of ripe red fruits—cherry, morello cherry—mingle with elegant spicy and oaky notes.
On the palate, it displays breadth and balance: well-controlled tannins, a rich yet silky texture, and restrained power without harshness. The fresh finish brings liveliness and elegance, prolonging the pleasure with spicy fruity notes.
A Graves red with character, to be enjoyed now by those who appreciate depth, but promises to evolve charmingly in the years to come.
The Apollon “Le Divin” wine is one of the exceptional vintages of Château Vénus, a property managed by Emmanuelle and Bertrand Amart since the estate’s creation in 2005.
Located in Illats, in the Graves appellation, the vineyard covers an area of approximately 8 to 9 hectares.
The vineyard is cultivated sustainably: traditional tillage (no chemical weedkillers), sowing of green manures, leaf thinning, and manual harvesting reflect a sustained focus on respecting the terroir. The grape varieties used for red wines like Apollon “Le Divin” are predominantly Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon.
Regarding the soils: The Graves terroir is characterized by well-draining gravel, rolled pebbles, gravel, mixed with sand and clay, ensuring good drainage while retaining a reserve of moisture and natural freshness. These soils allow for slow, balanced maturation, contributing to the elegance and complexity of the estate’s wines. (These characteristics are typical of the Graves appellation and confirmed in the cultivation practices of Château Vénus.)
