The 2021 Château Villa Bel-Air white seduces with its aromatic elegance and liveliness.
It reveals a beautiful pale yellow color with silver highlights.
The nose is expressive, blending aromas of citrus (grapefruit, lemon), white-fleshed fruits (pear, peach), and subtle floral notes, complemented by a hint of toast from the partial barrel aging.
On the palate, the attack is fresh and tense, driven by the Sauvignon, while the Sémillon brings a balanced roundness.
The texture is silky, with a long, lemony, and mineral finish.
A refined Graves white, to be enjoyed young for its freshness or after a few years of aging for greater complexity.
Located in the heart of the Graves region, in Saint-Morillon, Château Villa Bel-Air is a historic estate whose origins date back to the 18th century.
This elegant property was abandoned for a long time before being completely restored by Jean-Michel Cazes (Château Lynch-Bages) in 1988. It was then taken over in 2017 by the Ballande family, who continue to maintain a demanding quality vision.
The vineyard covers approximately 44 hectares, with ideal exposure and deep gravel soils over a clay-limestone substrate, typical of the appellation, which ensure both excellent drainage and pleasant freshness.
The grape varieties are mainly Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Sémillon, each variety carefully cultivated to reflect the finesse and complexity of the terroir.
The red wine benefits from traditional vinification, long vatting (≈ 21-25 days) and aging for 12 to 15 months in barrels, including a significant proportion of new wood.
