Clos Floridène Rouge opens with a deep, clear garnet color with purple highlights.

The nose is refined, clean, and expressive, with a beautiful intensity of fresh black fruits (blackcurrant, black cherry), enhanced by smoky, peppery, and slightly minty notes.
On the palate, the wine is distinguished by its straightforward and balanced structure, supported by elegant tannins and a beautiful mineral tension typical of limestone soils.
The perfectly integrated barrel aging adds a touch of complexity without masking the fruit.

The finish is long, precise, slightly chalky, with a lingering freshness.

Nestled in the heart of the Graves region, Clos Floridène is one of Bordeaux’s most elegant and unique estates, founded in the 1980s by renowned oenologist Denis Dubourdieu and his wife Florence—whose name is a poetic contraction: Floridène.
The vineyard, now managed by their sons, covers approximately 40 hectares spread between Pujols-sur-Ciron and Illats, on exceptional terroirs combining clay-limestone soils, deep gravel, and fissured limestone subsoils.

This unique terroir, rare in the Graves region, gives the wines a mineral, taut, and distinguished signature, found in both the vibrant whites and the structured reds.
The estate applies precision viticulture: manual work of the vines, plot-by-plot harvests, careful vinification, and aging on lees in barrels, in a spirit that is both artisanal and scientific.

At Clos Floridène, finesse, the purity of the fruit, and the expression of the soil take precedence over power. The estate embodies the great Bordeaux tradition with modernity, and offers wines with strong aging potential while remaining accessible young.
