The Hermitage “La Chapelle” 2017 from Paul Jaboulet Aîné is an exceptional cuvée from the northern Rhône Valley, primarily from the western slopes of Hermitage (Le Méal, Les Bessards, Les Rocoules), with deep granite soils. This 100% Syrah wine expresses a dark, almost purple color and an intense bouquet combining blackberries, black fruits, chocolate, grilled meat, mocha, and nuances of sweet spices. The palate is generous, dense, and rich, yet elegant, with fine, well-integrated tannins and a strong acidity that ensures freshness and balance. The finish is long and persistent, marked by a beautiful minerality, notes of smoke, and graphite that prolong the aromatic expression. A wine with remarkable aging potential (2025-2040+), it pairs magnificently with game, red meats in sauce, or dishes with complex aromas.

Founded in 1834 on the Hermitage hill in Tain-l’Hermitage, the Paul Jaboulet Aîné estate oversees an exceptional winemaking heritage, bringing together the most renowned terroirs of the northern Rhône Valley. Today, it oversees 105 hectares of vineyards, stretching from Cornas to Côte-Rôtie, in the heart of the most prestigious appellations of the northern Rhône Valley.
