The 2018 Hermitage “La Chapelle” from Paul Jaboulet Aîné is an exceptional cuvée from the northern Rhône Valley, born on the richly exposed historic granite slopes of Hermitage. Made from 100% Syrah, this vintage is distinguished by moderate aging in new oak (approximately 20%), which supports without overpowering the fruit’s expression.

The nose offers intense aromatic complexity with notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, and violet, blended with touches of licorice, graphite, and crushed stone. On the palate, the attack is full-bodied, the texture concentrated and deep, supported by solid yet refined tannins, with a long finish and remarkable mineral freshness.

This wine has excellent aging potential and will pair magnificently with red meats in sauce, game, or rich and flavorful gourmet dishes.

Founded in 1834 on the Hermitage hill in Tain-l’Hermitage, the Paul Jaboulet Aîné estate oversees an exceptional winemaking heritage, bringing together the most renowned terroirs of the northern Rhône Valley.
