The 1976 Hermitage “La Chapelle” from Paul Jaboulet Aîné is a legendary wine from the northern Rhône Valley, produced in the granite terroirs of Hermitage, renowned for their exceptional quality.
This older vintage presents an evolved color with brick-red highlights, characteristic of its age and elegance. The nose offers a complex palette of cooked red fruits, undergrowth, leather, sweet spices, and smoky notes, revealing a controlled maturity. On the palate, the wine seduces with its silky texture, softened tannins, and a long, elegant finish, supported by a remarkable mineral freshness.
This great wine is best enjoyed with refined dishes such as game, red meats, or mature cheeses.
Founded in 1834 on the Hermitage hill in Tain-l’Hermitage, the Paul Jaboulet Aîné estate oversees an exceptional winemaking heritage, bringing together the most renowned terroirs of the northern Rhône Valley. Today, it oversees 105 hectares of vineyards, stretching from Cornas to Côte-Rôtie, in the heart of the most prestigious appellations of the northern Rhône Valley.
Thanks to precise vinification and meticulous work in the vineyards, the estate crafts tailor-made vintages that accurately express the richness and diversity of their terroirs of origin. Since 2016, all of its wines have been certified organic, demonstrating a strong commitment to quality and respect for the environment.
Paul Jaboulet Aîné thus embodies the quintessence of the great wines of the Rhône Valley, between tradition, high standards and excellence.
