Château La Lagune 2022 – Grand Cru Classé from the Haut-Médoc in a 3-litre format is an excellent choice for lovers of great Bordeaux wines to share.

From the Haut-Médoc appellation, this 2022 vintage of Château La Lagune impresses with its balance and precision. It offers aromas of ripe dark fruits, accompanied by notes of violet and spices, with a well-integrated touch of oak.

On the palate, the structure is elegant, supported by fine tannins and a beautiful length. The 3-litre format (double magnum) allows the wine to evolve more slowly, making it ideal for aging or special occasions.

A wine to enjoy now after aeration, or to cellar for a few years to reveal its full complexity.

Château La Lagune is one of the historic estates of the Haut-Médoc, recognized as a Third Grand Cru Classé in 1855.

Its origins date back to the 16th century, when the “village of La Lagune” was transformed into a vineyard. The estate truly flourished in the 17th and 18th centuries, with the construction of the chartreuse and the expansion of the vineyard.

After a more difficult period in the 20th century, marked by crises and wars, the château experienced a revival from 1958 thanks to significant replanting and restoration work. Since the 2000s, the Frey family, led by Caroline Frey, has continued this work with a modern and demanding approach.

The vineyard today covers approximately 80 hectares of Garonne gravel soils, an ideal terroir for producing fine and structured wines. The plantings are dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and Petit Verdot.

Committed to respectful viticulture, the estate has been certified organic since 2016 and also practices biodynamics, with special attention to maintaining the natural balance of the vineyard.

Today, Château La Lagune is appreciated for its elegant, precise, and balanced style, often regarded as one of the finest wines of the Haut-Médoc.
