The Larrivet Haut‑Brion 2020 is a red wine from the Pessac-Léognan appellation, renowned for its elegant and refined style, typical of the great wines of Graves.
This vintage is crafted from a classic Bordeaux blend, mainly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, complemented by small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot depending on the parcels. The blend gives the wine power, finesse, and complexity.
On the nose, the wine is intense and refined, with aromas of ripe dark fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry), lightly spiced notes, and subtle oak from barrel aging.
On the palate, it is structured and full-bodied, with fine, silky tannins that provide length and harmony. The finish is persistent, marked by smoky and mineral hints characteristic of the Graves terroirs.
The Larrivet Haut‑Brion 2020 can be enjoyed now, but it has an aging potential of 10 to 15 years, allowing the wine to develop and gain complexity over time.
Château Larrivet Haut‑Brion is an iconic wine estate in the Pessac-Léognan appellation (Bordeaux region), located in Léognan on the left bank of the Gironde estuary. The property covers approximately 100 hectares, most of which are planted on a mosaic of gravelly soils typical of the Graves, promoting grape ripeness and complexity.
The estate has a long and evolving history: after carrying different names in the 19th century, it gradually took its current form. Since 1987, it has been owned by the Gervoson family, who spent over thirty years restoring and developing the property, with a strong focus on quality and terroir expression.
Since 2015, guided by the expertise of Stéphane Derenoncourt and a passionate team, the winemaking and aging processes have been designed to fully reveal the uniqueness of the vineyard. Through meticulous vineyard work and varied aging techniques (barrels, concrete eggs, stainless-steel vats), the wines display grace, balance, and finesse.
The family also emphasizes oenotourism and creativity around wine, with artistic projects and spaces such as the Jardin Millésimé, offering visitors a unique sensory experience.
Renowned for both its family tradition and innovation, Château Larrivet Haut‑Brion produces red and white wines that elegantly reflect the identity of Pessac-Léognan, combining structure, finesse, and aromatic expression.
