The Champagne Louis Roederer Cristal 2008 is a masterpiece of balance and precision, unanimously hailed as one of the greatest Cristals ever produced. Produced exclusively from the House’s historic Grands Crus, this iconic vintage embodies the quintessence of the Champagne terroir in a crystalline, taut, and incredibly pure style. The cool, even climate of 2008 allowed for a slow maturation of the grapes, ideal for preserving acidity, aromatic complexity, and freshness. Aged for over 10 years in the cellar before its release, Cristal 2008 is now at the peak of its expression, while boasting immense aging potential. An exceptional champagne, made for eternity.

Tasting Notes
Its golden color, with luminous reflections and fine mousse, heralds great elegance. The nose is strikingly pure, blending aromas of lemon zest, crisp pear, fresh hazelnut, wet chalk, and white flowers. Upon aeration, notes of brioche, almond powder, and subtle exotic fruits enrich the bouquet. On the palate, the attack is lively and chiseled, carried by exceptional mineral tension. The texture is both silky and vibrant, with pinpoint precision. The finish, saline and persistent, reveals a rare depth and almost infinite energy. Founded in 1776 in Reims, the Louis Roederer house is one of the last great Champagne houses to remain family-owned and independent. It owes its international renown to exceptional expertise, a constant demand for quality, and perfect mastery of the entire production chain, from the vineyard to the cellar.

The house now owns more than 240 hectares of vines, located exclusively in the Grands and Premiers Crus of Champagne, which allows it great autonomy and a unique style. At the helm of the cuvée production, Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, a visionary cellar master, embodies oenological excellence and innovation. He has profoundly influenced the identity of Roederer wines, notably through sustainable and biodynamic viticulture.

The house’s flagship is undoubtedly Cristal, created in 1876 for Tsar Alexander II of Russia. This legendary cuvée, produced only in the best years, is today one of the most sought-after champagnes in the world.
