The Lousteauneuf 2018 is a red wine from the Médoc, offering a beautiful balance of power and elegance, typical of wines from this appellation.
This vintage is made from a classic Médoc blend, mainly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with small additions of Cabernet Franc depending on the parcels. The blend gives the wine both structure and roundness.
On the nose, the wine shows a rich aromatic profile, combining ripe dark fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry) with subtle notes of vanilla and spice from barrel aging.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with fine, well-integrated tannins supporting a generous and balanced texture. The finish is long, with lightly oaky notes and a beautiful depth.
The Lousteauneuf 2018 can be enjoyed now, but has an aging potential of 8 to 12 years, allowing the wine to develop and gain complexity over time.
A classic Médoc, ideal with red meats, game, or saucy dishes, appealing to lovers of structured and elegant wines.
Château Lousteauneuf is a wine estate located in the heart of the Médoc appellation in Bordeaux, on the left bank of the Gironde estuary. It produces red wines typical of the Médoc, made from classic Bordeaux grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The quality of the wines reflects the influence of the region’s well-drained gravelly soils, which promote the ripening and concentration of the grapes.
The estate has a history deeply rooted in Bordeaux tradition: after being owned by the Guiraud family in the early 20th century, it was taken over in the 1960s by the Segond family — with Bruno Segond currently at the helm — who developed the property towards a more personal winemaking style and a faithful expression of the terroir. The wines have been recognized as “Cru Bourgeois Supérieur”, a mark of seriousness and commitment to quality.
The wines of Château Lousteauneuf are characterized by a fine tannic structure, a good balance between freshness and body, and the ability to pair beautifully with rich dishes such as grilled meats, game, or saucy recipes.
