Planted on the Terre Charlot plot in the center of the village, these vines benefit from a slope where a vein of heat-accumulating carboniferous schist outcrops. Upon tasting, this wine will reveal exotic flavors of apricot and passion fruit with a hint of spice on the finish. The ripe fruit gives the wine a rounded character.
Serve between 8 and 10°C with warm goat cheese, fish, chicken with tarragon, Savoyard fondue, etc.
The Vaxelaire family had long entertained the idea of owning a vineyard, a dream they reserved for their retirement years. But as soon as they discovered Belgian wine, their destiny took a decisive turn!
Leaving Brussels, they dropped anchor at the family château, quickly transforming the surrounding land into a patchwork of vineyards. Their estate, nestled in the heart of the “Vignoulle,” a place steeped in winemaking history, has transformed into a haven of thriving viticulture.
Today, the 11 hectares of vines breathe new life into the hills of yesteryear. Within this remarkable heritage, each wine takes shape and matures with the seasons: Johanniter, Muscaris, Pinotin…
These grape varieties, perhaps unfamiliar to some, are reminiscent of Riesling, Muscat, or Pinot Noir, but are distinguished by their natural resistance to devastating fungal diseases such as mildew and powdery mildew, which once threatened harvests.
Furthermore, adapted to cooler climates, these grape varieties eliminate the need for chemicals. In 2020, the estate proudly obtained its organic certification.
