Made from a rigorous selection of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot, this wine reflects the quintessence of the Le Mortelle estate. The Poggio alle Nane vineyard, with its well-drained, southwest-facing terroir, produces a deep, complex, and distinguished wine. The nose reveals notes of blackcurrant, dark chocolate, peppermint, and blond tobacco. On the palate, the texture is silky, the acidity perfectly integrated, and the fine tannins support a long, mineral, and elegant finish. Aged in French barrels, this is a high-class wine, promising a beautiful evolution.
Located in the heart of Maremma, on the southern coast of Tuscany, the Le Mortelle estate has belonged to the Antinori family since 1999. Nestled between gentle hills and views of the Tyrrhenian Sea, the estate covers over 270 hectares, of which approximately 170 are dedicated to vines. This land, long dedicated to traditional agriculture, has been passionately transformed into an exceptional vineyard, where international grape varieties meet the Tuscan spirit in a rich and bold dialogue.
The sandy and clay-limestone soils, the proximity of the sea, and the ideal exposure create a unique microclimate, particularly favorable to the development of grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carménère, and Petit Verdot. The winery, built partially underground, embodies the Antinori philosophy: a deep respect for nature combined with discreet but precise technological innovation.
