Joseph Drouhin’s Puligny-Montrachet is an iconic wine from this prestigious appellation. It combines finesse and complexity, with aromas of white flowers, white-fleshed fruits (peach, pear), and delicate notes of fresh butter and hazelnut. On the palate, it is balanced, with a lovely acidic tension and a mineral finish. This wine pairs perfectly with seafood, fine fish, or cream-based dishes.
Founded in 1880, this Beaune-based winery produces a wide range of Burgundy appellations: from Chablis (38 hectares under the Drouhin-Vaudon label) to Côte Chalonnaise (3 hectares), including Côtes de Beaune and Nuits (32 hectares). We can also add the American vineyards of Dom. Drouhin in Oregon (90 hectares) and Roserock Vineyard (112 hectares) in the Eola-Amity Hills region. This large-scale winery, thanks to its vast 73-hectare estate – developed by Robert Drouhin from 1957 and now managed by his four children – is also the largest owner of biodynamically cultivated vines. A must-see.
