This iconic cuvée from the house of Ramos Pinto comes from the renowned Quinta de Ervamoira, a spectacular estate located in the heart of the Upper Douro. Surrounded by a wild and unspoiled landscape, the vineyard is considered one of the most remarkable terroirs in the region. A prestigious cuvée that reflects the elegance and depth of the great wines of the Douro.
Tasting Notes
Deep, brilliant color. The nose reveals aromas of ripe black fruits, plum, and cherry, accompanied by hints of spice and a subtle touch of oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and balanced, with elegant tannins. The finish is persistent, marked by fruit and delicate spicy nuances.
Located in the easternmost part of the Douro, Quinta de Ervamoira is one of the iconic estates of the Ramos Pinto house. Nestled in the Upper Douro, near the Côa River, it benefits from a warm and dry climate that promotes excellent grape ripening.
Established in the 1970s, the estate was designed from the outset as a modern vineyard. Ramos Pinto introduced an innovative approach for the time, planting plots by grape variety rather than blending them, in order to better control ripening and grape quality.
Spanning over 200 hectares, much of it planted with vines, the Quinta forms a natural amphitheater facing the sun. Today, it is a model of sustainable viticulture in the region, with careful soil management and respect for biodiversity.
Rich in history, the estate is also located within a UNESCO World Heritage site for its rock engravings, linking heritage, nature, and wine culture.
