A true gem of the estate, Quiñón de Valmira comes from a single plot located in Alfaro, planted with old Garnacha vines. This rare wine captures all the grace, depth, and verticality of the terroir. The nose, of great complexity, combines wild strawberry, rose, fine spices, and chalk. On the palate, the texture is airy, almost crystalline in purity, carried by a vibrant tension. Each sip seems suspended between power and lightness.
The plot-by-plot vinification and delicate aging in old barrels respect the nobility of the fruit. This is a wine of meditation, emotion, and almost Burgundian precision. Its saline and persistent finish leaves an impression of absolute grace. Drink slowly, at a cool temperature, to fully grasp its dimension. Quiñón de Valmira 2017 is a summit of the Spanish Garnacha.

Nestled in the southeast of Rioja, in the Ebro Valley, Bodega Palacios Remondo is the winemaking soul of the Palacios family, whose roots run deep into the region’s history. Here, the landscape stretches across sunny hills and clay-limestone soils, swept by Mediterranean winds that bring warmth and light. Rioja Oriental (formerly Rioja Baja) is distinguished by its more temperate climate and generous character, conducive to the fruity expression of Garnacha. Under the leadership of Álvaro Palacios, an emblematic figure of the Spanish revival, the estate has rediscovered an identity rooted in tradition yet driven by modern precision.
The 100 hectares of the estate are cultivated organically, with the greatest respect for biodiversity. The vines, often old, are rooted in soils that combine gravel, sand, and limestone, promoting a slow and balanced ripening of the grapes. The vinification is gentle, respectful of the fruit, and the aging in old barrels lends depth and elegance without ever dominating.
Palacios Remondo seeks to express the truth of the Alto Najerilla terroir, where Garnacha achieves an unexpected refinement. Each vintage embodies a different facet of this luminous landscape: the spontaneity of the fruit in La Vendimia, the silky roundness of La Montesa, the vibrant complexity of Propriedad, or the crystalline purity of Placet.
The estate has established itself as a model of regenerative viticulture and respect for the soil, redefining the style of contemporary Rioja: finer, more floral, more transparent. The wines are both accessible and profound, driven by Mediterranean energy and Atlantic grace. In short, Palacios Remondo embodies the perfect synthesis of ancestral terroir and avant-garde vision.
