Château de Pez “Second” is the second wine from this great Saint-Estèphe estate, offering a more accessible and supple version, with aromas of black fruits, silky tannins and a beautiful freshness typical of the appellation.
Château de Pez, located in Saint-Estèphe, is one of the oldest wine estates in the Médoc, founded in 1452 by Jean de Briscos. In the 16th century, it came under the ownership of the Pontac family, also owners of the prestigious Château Haut-Brion, which contributed to its influence. During the French Revolution, the estate was sold as national property, before experiencing a succession of owners during the 19th and 20th centuries who ensured its continuity. In 1995, it was acquired by the Champagne house Louis Roederer, which initiated a vast modernization program: restructuring of the vineyard, replanting, and plot reorganization, while promoting the historic terroir of Saint-Estèphe. In 2003, Château de Pez was awarded the Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel classification, recognition of its quality level. Today, under the direction of the team led by Nicolas Glumineau, the estate combines tradition and innovation, and continues to embody a heritage of more than five centuries, symbolizing the richness and longevity of the great wines of the Médoc.
