Château Langoa Barton is an elegant red wine from the Saint-Julien appellation, classified as a Third Grand Cru Classé in 1855. Made from a blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc, it offers a deep color and a complex nose of black fruits, cedar and spices. On the palate, it has a silky tannic structure, a beautiful freshness and a long and refined finish.
Langoa Barton Castle was acquired in 1821 by Hugh Barton (a partner of Daniel Guestier[1] in the Barton & Guestier trading house), grandson of Thomas Barton (an Irishman who made his fortune in the wine trade). The castle is still in the Barton family today since in 1983, Anthony Barton, a descendant of Thomas and Hugh, took over the management of the estate.
