The grapes are hand-picked, vinified in the traditional way, and then subjected to a light skin maceration. The wine is aged in oak barrels in our cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia.
A Douro institution founded in 1880 by Adriano Ramos Pinto, now a member of the Louis Roederer group. The estate owns four emblematic quintas: Bom Retiro, Urtiga, Bons Ares and Ervamoira, totaling approximately 400 hectares of vineyard. It cultivates typical Douro grape varieties (Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, and others) with particular attention to terroir, biodiversity and technical evolution. The blend of its wines reflects the diversity of its sites: Bom Retiro produces elegant and tangy cuvées, while Ervamoira, typical of the Douro Superior, delivers richer, concentrated and homogeneous wines. The estate is now run by a family continuity and produces both refined ports (Ruby, Tawny, Vintage) and dry Douro wines such as “Duas Quintas”. It also offers a marked heritage experience, with visits to its cellars and museums in Portugal.
