A true reference of the Sainte-Foy Côtes de Bordeaux appellation,
La Réserve de Famille has made the estate famous.
A premium wine with the depth and complexity worthy of the finest Bordeaux.
Nose: the wine opens with subtle, sweet licorice notes, dominated by ripe Morello cherry.
Palate: smooth, dense, and concentrated, with a beautiful saline finish.
An unmissable great Bordeaux wine.
Andreas Larsson, Best Sommelier of the World 2007:
*”The color is a deep, inky purple. The pure nose reveals layers of wood-derived spices, with hints of toasted bread and meat meeting black cherry and cassis.
The palate is dense and concentrated, still young but balanced, in a creamy and bold style. There is great fruit purity, a richness of fine tannins adding structure, and a very long, opulent finish.
It will improve over the coming years, but it is already very tempting.”*

In 1991, Patrick de Coninck and Albert Michiels acquired Château Martet. Ideally located on a hillside along the Dordogne, this estate offers an exceptional heritage, with a connection to both the vineyard and its people that dates back to Roman times.
Château Martet was built in the 13th century as a hospitable house of the Order of the Templars for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. From the start, Patrick and Albert had the ambitious goal of restoring the vineyard and the estate to their former glory.
In 1998, Patrick de Coninck entrusted Louis Mitjavile with advising on both viticulture and winemaking. Today, his daughter Nina continues her father’s legacy, guiding Château Martet with the same expertise.
Over the years, their work has elevated Château Martet to the status of an essential vineyard: five great wines, a welcoming estate, and preserved biodiversity, all contributing to the reputation of this rich and passionate story.
