The Estate
A prestigious Left Bank estate, Château Giscours boasts a rich heritage, with vines first planted in the 16th century. The Giscours adventure truly began in the 19th century with the arrival of the Promis, Pescatore, and Cruse families. Classified as a 3rd Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 Official Classification, Château Giscours became a true flagship of the Bordeaux region. Château Giscours saw a new chapter in its history written when it was acquired in 1995 by Éric Albada Jelgersma, a Dutch businessman and also owner of Château du Tertre, who passed away in 2018.
A prestigious Grand Cru, Château Giscours showcases all the classic style that has made Margaux so famous. Its finesse and elegance, its distinguished and refined expression, its silky palate underlined by fine tannins, and its persistent length make Château Giscours a wine often described as intellectual.

The Vineyard
A superb 300-hectare estate located in the heart of the Margaux appellation, Château Giscours oversees an exceptional vineyard comprising 80 hectares of vines planted with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot. The secret of Château Giscours’ terroir lies in its three gravelly outcrops. These play a decisive role, acting as a natural radiator, thanks to their ability to capture the sun’s rays during the day and reflect its heat at night, ensuring perfect ripening of the grapes. The mild climate and the topography with its slight relief constitute a particular ensemble which determines the singularity of Château Giscours.
