In Limony, in the northern Rhône Valley, this Petite Arvine, a grape variety native to Valais in Switzerland, expresses itself with finesse. This grape, appreciated for its floral delicacy and aromatic richness, finds an ideal terroir in a small, wind-sheltered valley, perpendicular to the Rhône Valley. Planted on a plot of approximately 3,000 m² on stakes, the vine benefits from deep soil derived from the colluvium of the Grands Amandiers hillside, which effectively protects the plant from summer droughts. Introduced in 2016, this cuvée reveals a unique personality, driven by a subtle balance between warmth and freshness.
The nose opens with an expressive and complex bouquet, blending fresh mineral notes, Menton lemon zest, and delicate hints of white flowers. On the palate, the attack is lively and straightforward, followed by a mouth-watering fullness that blossoms in the heart of the wine. The flavorful finish extends this harmony, combining depth and tension, for a remarkable balance between power and freshness.
Caroline Frey’s estate, located in Fully in the Swiss Valais, is home to a small vineyard called “Mon Jardin Secret” where Petite Arvine is cultivated. Planted on deep soils derived from the colluvium of the Grands Amandiers hillside, this wind-protected plot benefits from an ideal microclimate for this delicate, drought-sensitive grape variety. Since 2016, this cuvée has expressed floral finesse, mineral freshness, and elegance, a faithful reflection of Caroline Frey’s unique terroir and expertise.
