The grape varieties used to blend Mas de Daumas Gassac red are 80% Cabernet Sauvignon combined with a collection of ten different grape varieties: Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, Tannat, Petit Verdot, Carménère, Syrah, Pinot Noir and other old and rare varieties.
The vineyard is made up, for the most part, of the uncloned King Cabernet Sauvignon, as it reigned in the Medoc before 1914.
