Comprising some fifteen micro-terroirs, the Château Branaire Ducru vineyard extends over 60 hectares, running along an east-west axis in the southern part of the appellation.
The vines, on average 35 years old, are planted on Quaternary gravelly-siliceous alluvial soils, making it one of the warmest terroirs in the region.
The Cabernet Sauvignon thus develops with perfect phenolic ripeness, while the Merlot flourishes on clay beds.
