The creation of Domaine Lagrange dates back to antiquity, with the establishment of the Villa Rustica. Later, in medieval times, the famous Knights Templar planted the first vines.1631 marked the beginning of a succession of owners. Among them was Jean-Valère Cabarrus, who bought the estate in 1790 and revitalized the vineyard. He improved production techniques and built the Tour de Toscane, which would become the emblem of Château Lagrange. The estate became 3rd Grand Cru Classé in 1855!
At the end of the 20th century, in 1983, the Japanese Suntory group acquired Château Lagrange. The company’s operations were restructured, and associates from both French and Japanese backgrounds worked together to achieve excellence in every cuvée. Mathieu Bordes and Keiichi Shiina are now at the helm of the estate, launching the second phase of investment. Production methods are geared towards greater respect for the environment and reducing the ecological footprint.
3rd Cru Classé of Saint-Julien in the heart of the Médoc, Château Lagrange produces a confidential white wine in the Bordeaux appellation. It is one of the finest white wines in the Médoc.
