L’Envolée comes from 1 hectare of enclosed, 60-year-old Cabernet Franc vines planted on a clay-limestone hillside. The yield is very low, around 35 hl/ha, to ensure that the grapes reach perfect ripeness.
L’Envolée is traditionally matured in new barrels for 24 months. It is bottled without fining or filtration.
You can pair this wine with all kinds of elaborate red meat dishes, game, lamb or spicy dishes, not forgetting a variety of cheese platters.
The Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil vineyard is located in the heart of the Loire Valley, within the Anjou Touraine regional natural park. The appellation covers an area of 950 hectares on a gravelly terrace and clay-limestone slopes. The “Domaine” cuvée is produced from the different vineyards of the property, it is the most popular and makes the reputation of the house.
