he first mention of a Doisy cru can be found in André Jullien’s “Topographie de tous les vignobles connus” (1832). Doisy is one of the twenty crus in Bordeaux’s first class of white wines, of which there are five.
Terroir: at the very top of the haut Barsac, bordered by Crus classés in 1855, the vineyard is located on the clay-limestone plateau. This geological exception on the left bank has helped make the village of Barsac and its wines famous the world over.
Surface area: 15 hectares of Sémillon for the production of Château Doisy Daëne sweet wines. 10 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc for the production of dry white wines made exclusively in the commune of Barsac.
Grape varieties: 40% Sauvignon blanc, 60% Sémillon.
