In the heart of the golden hillsides of Sauternes, where September mornings
lay their misty veil over the Ciron river, an estate has reigned for seven centuries
with the quiet sovereignty of those who have nothing left to prove.
Château d’Yquem
is not merely the foremost sweet wine estate in Bordeaux — classified alone
above all others in 1855, in a category that had to be invented for it alone —
it is the living proof that perfection is not an abstraction,
but a place, a terroir, a gesture repeated with absolute exigency across generations.

The 2023
vintage writes itself into legend with rare authority. Born of an ardent summer
tempered by the misty caresses of autumn, it allowed
Botrytis cinerea — that noble mould which Yquem calls its most precious ally —
to envelop each berry of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc, grain by grain.
It is not uncommon for a single vine to yield only one glass of wine.
It is this accepted sacrifice, this lucid madness, that makes Yquem what it is.

On the palate, the attack is majestic — broad, silky, with an unctuousness
that wraps itself around the palate like velvet. The finish is interminable:
salted caramel, quince,
citrus peel, white truffle — several minutes of persistence
that one calls, for lack of a better word, eternity.
