Brunello di Montalcino from the Pian delle Vigne estate embodies the nobility of Sangiovese, grown on the clay-limestone hills southwest of Montalcino. This great red wine is distinguished by its aromatic depth, blending notes of black cherry, ripe plum, leather, blond tobacco, and sweet spices. On the palate, the attack is full and velvety, supported by a fine and silky tannic structure, perfectly balanced by a natural freshness that prolongs the finish. Aging in large foudres for more than two years preserves the elegance of the fruit while developing complexity and longevity. Harmonious, intense, and timeless, this Brunello pairs magnificently with roast meats, game dishes, wild mushrooms, or mature cheeses, and reveals its full potential after a few years of aging.

Located a few kilometers southwest of Montalcino, in the heart of Tuscany, the Pian delle Vigne estate has belonged to the Antinori family since 1995. Surrounded by the region’s rolling hills, the estate covers over 180 hectares, around sixty of which are planted with vines, primarily Sangiovese, the emblematic grape variety of Brunello di Montalcino. The clay-limestone soils, southwest exposure, and warm climate tempered by cool night breezes create ideal conditions for the slow and balanced ripening of the grapes.

True to the Antinori philosophy, winemaking at Pian delle Vigne combines respect for the terroir with technical precision. The wines are aged in large oak barrels to preserve the purity of the fruit and the natural elegance of Sangiovese. The estate’s Brunello di Montalcino is distinguished by its depth, silky structure, and remarkable aging potential, while the Rosso di Montalcino seduces with its freshness and approachability. Pian delle Vigne perfectly embodies Antinori’s vision: to express the identity of a great terroir through authentic, balanced, and timeless wines.
