Located in the far north of Burgundy, the Chablis vineyard is renowned for its lively, mineral white wines made exclusively from Chardonnay. This Chablis from Maison Joseph Drouhin is an elegant and authentic expression of this, combining freshness, purity, and finesse. Produced from fossil-rich limestone soils, it reveals delicate aromas of citrus and white flowers, and a beautiful tension on the palate. Its long, saline finish demonstrates great respect for the terroir during the winemaking process. Perfect as an aperitif, it also pairs wonderfully with seafood, grilled fish, or goat cheese.
Since 1880, Domaine Joseph Drouhin has embodied the elegance and tradition of great Burgundy wines. Founded in Beaune by Joseph Drouhin, the house is now run by the fourth generation: Philippe, Véronique, Laurent, and Frédéric, who passionately and meticulously perpetuate the family legacy. The estate covers nearly 100 hectares, spread across the region’s most prestigious appellations: Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise, Mâconnais, and even Beaujolais. The majority of the plots are classified as Premiers and Grands Crus, planted primarily with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, but also Aligoté and Gamay depending on the terroir.
A visionary, the Maison was one of the first in Burgundy to adopt organic and biodynamic viticulture in the late 1980s, obtaining organic certification for the entire vineyard in 2009. This approach, respectful of nature, reveals the authenticity of the terroirs and gives the wines remarkable purity and finesse. The Drouhin style, recognized worldwide, is distinguished by its balance, delicacy, and ability to express the subtlety of each climate. Among the iconic vintages are Clos des Mouches, Premier Cru of Beaune, and the legendary Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche, an exceptional Grand Cru.
Choosing a wine from Domaine Joseph Drouhin means choosing excellence, consistency, and the profound expression of the Burgundy terroir. A historic family-owned house resolutely focused on the future.
