Description Estate Additional information

This vibrant red perfectly reflects the alliance between the sunny character of the Douro and the elegance of the Ramos Pinto style. The bouquet opens with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and white pepper, highlighted by a floral touch. On the palate, the ample body seduces with its balance between crisp fruit and silky tannins. The expression of the schist is perceived in a fine mineral framework and a long finish.
The plot-by-plot vinification highlights the personality of each grape variety, while a short aging in barrels brings suppleness and complexity. The 2022 vintage is distinguished by its aromatic purity and youthful radiance. Served slightly chilled, it pairs perfectly with grilled meats, lamb dishes, or mature cheeses. The palate remains juicy, straightforward, and elegant from start to finish. An accessible, sincere wine with a beautiful Mediterranean intensity.

Founded in 1880 in Porto, Maison Ramos Pinto is one of the historic icons of the Douro, a breathtaking region in northern Portugal where vines climb terraces carved into the schist. A visionary from the outset, the house has successfully combined tradition and innovation, producing still wines and ports of rare finesse. Its estates, Quinta de Ervamoira and Quinta dos Bons Ares, stretch along the upper Douro, where the continental climate and schist soils forge wines of character.
Each plot is vinified separately to express the diversity of the terroir, from cooler altitudes to sun-baked hillsides. Ramos Pinto practices sustainable viticulture, respectful of the environment and the natural rhythm of the vine. The winemaking combines ancestral know-how—traditional crushing—with modern, precise techniques. The identity of Ramos Pinto wines is based on the purity of fruit, mineral tension, and a distinguished elegance that transcends the power of the Douro. The Duas Quintas (“Two Estates”) range illustrates this alliance between wild nature and oenological refinement. It embodies the house’s philosophy: to create balanced, vibrant wines that reflect the light, warmth, and depth of the river.
Today, Ramos Pinto remains a symbol of Portuguese winemaking, uniting heritage and modernity, rigor and sensuality, power and grace. Its wines, acclaimed for their consistency and personality, tell the story of a unique terroir, both rugged and strikingly beautiful.
