Paul Jaboulet Aîné’s Hermitage “La Maison Bleue” is an iconic cuvée from the northern Rhône Valley, produced in the deep, limestone terroirs east of the famous Hermitage hill. The vines, planted between 1955 and 1994, are rooted in soils composed of colluvium and river terraces from the Rhône, rich in limestone, giving the Syrah a refined and powerful expression. This wine reveals an intense nose of blackberry, black cherry, licorice, black pepper, and cedar, with a beautiful aromatic complexity. The attack is ample and velvety, supported by fine tannins and a mineral freshness that elegantly extends the finish. Deep and structured, “La Maison Bleue” embodies the soul of the Hermitage terroir and is ideal for aging, pairing perfectly with red meats, game, and dishes in sauce.
Founded in 1834 on the Hermitage hill in Tain-l’Hermitage, the Paul Jaboulet Aîné estate oversees an exceptional winemaking heritage, bringing together the most renowned terroirs of the northern Rhône Valley. Today, it oversees 105 hectares of vineyards, stretching from Cornas to Côte-Rôtie, in the heart of the most prestigious appellations of the northern Rhône Valley.
Thanks to precise vinification and meticulous work in the vineyards, the estate crafts tailor-made vintages that accurately express the richness and diversity of their terroirs of origin. Since 2016, all of its wines have been certified organic, demonstrating a strong commitment to quality and respect for the environment.
Paul Jaboulet Aîné thus embodies the quintessence of the great wines of the Rhône Valley, between tradition, high standards and excellence.
