Château Lafite Rothschild 2018
Originating from the prestigious terroir of Pauillac, Château Lafite Rothschild 2018 embodies with great class the grandeur of Bordeaux’s First Growths. The estate delivers a sunny and generous vintage here, while preserving the finesse and precision that have built its reputation.
The 2018 vintage is marked by exceptional grape ripeness, resulting in a wine of great aromatic richness. The nose opens with intense aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and black plum, complemented by notes of violet, cedar, graphite, blond tobacco, and gentle spices. Oak ageing adds depth and complexity, perfectly integrated into the whole.
On the palate, the texture is full and velvety. The concentration is remarkable, supported by powerful yet refined tannins that provide structure without harshness. The finish is long, deep, and persistent, marked by black fruit, noble wood, and a distinct mineral signature.
A great Pauillac built for long ageing, already impressive in its youth but with outstanding potential to evolve over several decades.
Château Lafite Rothschild
Located in the northern part of the Pauillac appellation, Château Lafite Rothschild is one of Bordeaux’s most iconic estates. Classified as a First Growth (Premier Grand Cru Classé) in 1855, it is globally renowned for the finesse, elegance, and exceptional longevity of its wines.
The vineyard extends over deep gravel ridges resting on limestone and sandy subsoils, a terroir particularly well suited to Cabernet Sauvignon, the estate’s dominant grape variety, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot.
The estate belongs to the Rothschild family (Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite group), which upholds a philosophy based on precise parcel-by-parcel management, demanding viticulture, and a constant pursuit of the purest expression of terroir.
The wines of Château Lafite Rothschild are celebrated for their aromatic finesse, balance, and outstanding ageing potential, making the estate an absolute benchmark among Bordeaux’s greatest classified growths.
