The Musigny Grand Cru 2019 from Domaine Joseph Drouhin is one of the greatest red wines of Burgundy, coming from one of the most mythical terroirs of the Côte de Nuits. Located in the village of Chambolle-Musigny, the Musigny climat is renowned for producing Pinot Noir of rare finesse, combining elegance, depth, and exceptional longevity.
The Domaine Joseph Drouhin, a historic estate founded in 1880 in Beaune, is today one of Burgundy’s leading producers. It is distinguished by a highly respectful approach to the vineyard, with a large share of biodynamic farming and a winemaking philosophy focused on purity of fruit and expression of terroir.
The Musigny terroir is composed of complex soils combining limestone marl and fine clay, with an ideal gently sloping exposure. These unique conditions allow the production of wines of great delicacy as well as remarkable depth.
The 2019 vintage is marked by excellent ripeness and outstanding balance. The nose reveals refined aromas of red and black fruits—cherry, raspberry, and blackberry—complemented by floral notes (violet, rose), subtle spices, and elegant mineral nuances.
On the palate, the wine is silky and ethereal, supported by extremely fine tannins. The whole is highly precise, both intense and delicate, with remarkable length and a purity that is typical of the greatest Musigny wines.
This Musigny Grand Cru 2019 has exceptional ageing potential and can evolve gracefully for several decades. It pairs perfectly with refined dishes such as truffled poultry, elegant red meats, or delicate haute cuisine preparations.
The Domaine Joseph Drouhin is one of Burgundy’s great historic wine houses. Founded in 1880 in Beaune, it is today among the region’s leading references, with an exceptional vineyard heritage spread across the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune, and the Chablis region.
The estate is known for its highly respectful approach to terroir, with a gradual conversion to biodynamic viticulture across a large part of its vineyards. This philosophy aims to express with precision the purity of the grape varieties and the uniqueness of each Burgundian climat.
The vineyards of Joseph Drouhin include numerous prestigious parcels, among them iconic Grand Crus such as Musigny, Clos de Vougeot, Corton-Charlemagne, and Montrachet. This diversity allows for a complete interpretation of Burgundy from north to south.
Winemaking is carried out with great finesse, favouring gentle extractions, controlled fermentations, and carefully measured ageing in oak barrels, in order to preserve the natural elegance of the wines.
The wines of Domaine Joseph Drouhin are recognised for their purity, balance, and ageing potential. They embody a classic Burgundian style that is precise, refined, and appreciated worldwide.
