The Estate – Château Margaux

Château Margaux is one of the most prestigious and iconic estates in the Médoc and ranks among the five First Growths of the 1855 classification. An absolute symbol of Bordeaux elegance, it is globally renowned for the finesse, complexity, and exceptional longevity of its wines.

The vineyard extends over approximately 90 hectares in a single block, a rarity in Bordeaux. It is planted on deep gravel soils over clay-limestone subsoils, providing ideal drainage conditions and ensuring slow, even ripening of the grapes. This unique terroir lies at the heart of the estate’s aromatic signature.

The vineyard is predominantly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. This diversity allows the production of wines of great precision, combining controlled power, freshness, and aromatic refinement.

Winemaking is carried out with extreme precision, parcel by parcel, in order to preserve the purest expression of the terroir. Ageing in oak barrels adds structure, complexity, and elegance without ever overpowering the fruit.
