This wine is one of the main flagships of the Antinori House. It was the first Sangiovese to be aged in barrels, the first modern red wine blended with non-traditional varieties like Cabernet, and one of the first red wines in Chianti not to use white grapes. This earned it the honor of becoming the first "Super-Tuscan". Very open on the nose, this wine offers a whole range of aromas ranging from ripe red fruits to spices, to which are added toasted and vanilla touches. All this makes for an incredible bouquet with beautiful persistence and elegance. On the palate, it offers a great density and aromatic complexity with silky tannins. In terms of food pairings, it will go very well with grilled meats, whether red or white, dishes based on tasty meats such as lamb, game birds, Mediterranean, Asian or Latin American cuisine, even certain sea fish such as red mullet can pair well with this wine. Tenuta Tignanello is an iconic estate located in the heart of Chianti Classico, Tuscany, one of Italy’s most prestigious wine regions. Owned by the Antinori family since 1850, the estate covers 319 hectares, 165 of which are dedicated to vines. It is home to two legendary plots, Tignanello and Solaia, nestled on the same hill at an altitude of 350 to 400 meters. This unique terroir, composed of marine marl rich in limestone and schist, benefits from an ideal southwest exposure, promoting a slow and balanced ripening of the grapes.

Since 1385, the Antinori family has embodied Italian winemaking excellence, combining tradition and innovation over 26 generations. A pioneer in the creation of Super Tuscans, Tenuta Tignanello made history by incorporating international grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, while breaking with the traditional constraints of Chianti Classico, particularly the use of white grapes. This bold choice not only affirmed the estate’s modern identity, but also propelled Tuscan wines onto the international stage.

Today, Maison Antinori is present in several Italian regions – from Tuscany to Umbria – through properties selected for the uniqueness of their terroirs and their potential to produce exceptional wines.
