Château Cos d’Estournel – Saint-Estèphe
Located in the heart of the Saint-Estèphe appellation, in the Médoc, Château Cos d’Estournel is one of Bordeaux’s most iconic estates. Classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 Classification, the estate stands out as much for the quality of its wines as for its spectacular architecture, inspired by the travels to the Orient of its founder, Louis-Gaspard d’Estournel, nicknamed the “Maharajah of Saint-Estèphe.”
Founded at the end of the 18th century, the estate now covers approximately 100 hectares of vineyards, planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
Since 2000, Cos d’Estournel has been owned by Michel Reybier. The estate follows a philosophy centred on excellence, precision and innovation, notably with its gravity-flow winery, inaugurated in 2008.
The wines of Cos d’Estournel are renowned for their power, elegance, freshness and exceptional ageing potential. Characterful wines that are deeply rooted in the unique terroir of Saint-Estèphe.
