This elegant Chardonnay is produced on the Bocca di Lupo estate, in the Murgia region of Puglia. The characteristic of this region is its “pietra”. The etymology of the word “Murgia” refers to sharp stone or rock and specifically refers to the dry stone walls that line the countryside. The “Pietrabianca” also refers to the stones that the peasants strike when plowing the fields and which, once crushed and pressed into the ground, help to enhance the flavors of the wines grown there. Rich, complex and at the same time fresh and pleasant, the Pietrabianca shows that Puglia is also a region of great white wines.
The Antinori family gave birth to Tormaresca in 1998 when they started investing in Puglia.
The estate covers 500 hectares of which 250 are planted with vines and 85 are intended for olive groves.
The main varieties that are grown are Negroamaro, Primitivo, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.
