Les Fiefs de Lagrange, the second wine of Château Lagrange, is more supple than its elder sibling, making it more approachable at a younger age.
The 3rd Cru Classé of Saint-Julien, Château Lagrange has been owned by the Japanese beverage group Suntory since 1983. The vineyard has been gradually extended from 57 hectares to 113 today, cultivation methods refined and equipment modernized, with a vat room among the most sophisticated in the Médoc. The vines are planted on two beautiful ridges of deep Garonne gravel, mixed with sand and ferruginous clay. Since 2007, Bruno Eynard, already assistant manager of the estate, has been in sole charge, with the advice of oenologists Jacques and Eric Boissenot. Mainly made from Cabernet Sauvignon (65%) and Merlot (28%), Lagrange wines offer a consistency of quality recognized by wine-lovers: elegant structure, rich, suave and tasty fruit, with superb ageing potential.
