Hugel – Riesling Classic 2023 (Copie)

The wines of Hugel & Fils have a long-standing tradition. In 1639, the first Hugel settled in Riquewihr. Eleven generations later, Jean-Philippe, Étienne, and Marc Hugel lead this centuries-old estate. Hugel owns 25 hectares on the best slopes of Riquewihr and is also involved with 100 hectares of comparable quality.

Hugel deliberately avoids the “Grand Cru” designation, as commerce, rather than quality, seems to be the starting point. Dry wines are offered at three quality levels: the simple varietal (‘tout court’), the Estate Hugel from the best slopes, and Grossi Laue from their own vineyards.

For lovers of sweet wines, there are the famous Vendange Tardive and Sélection de Grains Nobles, sweet wines with great aging potential, for which Hugel rightly enjoys worldwide renown.
