Domaine de Lagravière has always been known for the quality of its terroir and its famous gravelly ‘croupe’. It was in honour of Count Hippolyte de Malartic, an admiral in the service of the Kings of France and owner of the estate in the 18th century, that the Château was renamed Malartic-Lagravière. Purchased at the end of 1996 by Michèle and Alfred-Alexandre Bonnie, the property has been completely renovated. All the conditions have been met to ensure that its wines take their rightful place among the very best Bordeaux grands crus: a high-quality terroir and vineyard, innovative, high-performance facilities fully dedicated to traditional winemaking methods, and a committed, passionate team. The reds are elegant and concentrated, while the whites are delicate. The estate’s second wine is Le Sillage de Malartic.
